Learn the basics of painting with encaustic. This ancient media combines beeswax with a tree resin to raise the melting temperature and make it more durable. You’ll learn the basic setup and safety. The morning will be dedicated to exploring the different heating tools, including a blow torch and iron. The afternoon will be spent learning about carving and scraping. You’ll also learn how to make your own encaustic wax. The workshop runs from 10am-4pm. Lunch is at your own discretion.
