Accretion is the result of building up thin layers of wax into a textured painting. There are two types of accretion: organic and controlled. You will learn both types including how to start, applying the layers, and fusing. You will also learn how to incorporate using an iron to achieve the illusion of a highly textured piece.

This in-person workshop runs from 10am-4pm at Upwards Art Studio at the Elora Centre for the Arts. Lunch is at your own discretion.

Basic knowledge of encaustic recommended.

Materials Required: Six 6×6 panels or similar (these will be available for sale but please email me directly if you intend to purchase so I can have them in stock). All other materials will be provided.
