The union of encaustic with photography is quite amazing. The depth created by the wax and the ability to colourize a black and white photograph, is unlike any other combination of media. There are many different techniques that marry the two including: transferring, embedding, and adding wax as a final layer to a prepared photo. This workshop will take place over two days. You will learn:

• Photo transfers on wax;
• How to embed photos printed on rice paper
• Use wax on top of photographs on heavy weight paper

No experience necessary. You will be responsible for having some of your photographs printed on watercolour cotton rag paper (additional instructions will be sent by email). You will also be responsible for emailing me 3-6 edited photograph files at least a week before the first day of the workshop.

The workshop runs 10-4pm each day.
